Various bets are placed by fisherman and spectators on the docks and beach of Darkmoon Island as to which Debris Derby racers will be first to cross the line at the Darkmoon Faire city portals at the docks. There are multiple race options not just win, but also side bets to show (2nd) or place (3rd) back at the docks. There are also separate races and side best for clockwise, counter-clockwise directions as well.

What makes the Darkmoon Debris Derby (DDD) so much fun is that those racing have no clue they are actually participating in an unofficial race and/or bets. Most Players that are placing bets are normally just start off fishing down by docks completing the daily fishing quest and someone will mention if anyone wants to place a “DDD” or Crate Race bet. A typical bet is placed when it appears that more than mount is in sight and one or more of them might soon be taking off for a trip around the island. Common Bets are for about 1-10 gold, with those participating yelling out their bet, which would include: mount type, rider race, (to win, place or show) within sight of each other, Direction Cw (left to right) or CC (right to left) with the finish line being the end of the dock where the off island transport takes place back to Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

Spoiler:
Don’t tell those betting on the Darkmoon Debris Derby (DDD), but some players that know of the derby take great delight in switching mounts when away from the pier before coming back (lol).
