Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide

The Guide magically appears in your gear when you turn in the quest “The Darkmoon Faire,” which is offered to you by the Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mages in the capitol cities of Azeroth during the Darkmoon Faire. If you don’t happen to notice the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide was slipped into your pack, you most certainly will notice the extra treasure you will start obtaining whenever you defeat creatures.

Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide starting quest giver

Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mages give the “The Darkmoon Faire,” quest which leads to the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide.

According to the tooltip for the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide: “Allows you to find Darkmoon Artifacts in appropriately-challenging dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds.”

The artifacts can later be obtained by removing insignias from fallen enemies in battlegrounds, or turning in a pile of Grisly Trophies (ears) that will start to stack up in your pack, but don’t worry they shouldn’t overburden you by taking us too much space. Much like the Darkmoon Faire card decks you can then later turn in these artifacts to various people at the faire. In the case of the Grisly Trophies a stack of 250 can be turned in to Kerri Hicks for the “Test Your Strength” quest during the Darkmoon Faire and receive 10 Darkmoon Prize Tickets.

In addition to the occasional Grisly Trophy the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide allows you to pick up various other artifacts such as:

Adventurer’s Journal
Banner of the Fallen
Captured Insignia
Imbued Crystal
Monstrous Egg
Mysterious Grimoire
Ornate Weapon
Soothsayer’s Runes
A Treatise on Strategy

Players are expected to keep the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in their pack at all times so that they can collect various artifacts (one artifact of each type can be received each faire) extras can be traded or sold at the auction house or keep to turn in at a future Darkmoon Faire.
