Darkmoon Faire Sea Pony Locations

The Darkmoon Faire Sea Pony is one of the coolest companions or pets to collect in WoW. The Darkmoon Faire Sea Pony is rare, but is also available to any character regardless of their level and doesn’t require a substantial fishing skill to obtain.

The reason why the Darkmoon Faire Sea Pony is so rare is that players are only able to fish for this pet once a month during the week that the Darkmoon Faire is happening. The best place to fish for the Darkmoon Faire Sea Pony is on or near the dock especially in you are on a PvP server as that area is considered a sanctuary area.

Besides looking beyond amazing the Darkmoon Faire Sea Pony can travel with their owner by floating in the air within their own pulsating water bubble as well as in water as logic would suggest.

To increase one’s chances of getting this rare drop, rumors are that odds increase while fishing in the secret underwater seacave that conveniently has a private beach (with breathable air), dubbed by players as the Secret Sea Pony Cave.

The Secret Sea Pony Cave is one of the rarest fishing spots in all of WoW and is located off the Northeast coast of the Darkmoon Faire Island.
Adventurers can find the cave enterance, which is located just below what remains of a wrecked lost ship.

To get to the Secret Sea Pony Cave:

Once at the Darkmoon Faire island and while running down to the Darkmoon Faire, stop at the first hanging lamp (53,37) it will be on your left after passing two blinking pointing arrows and right before the 3rd, climb the hill and proceed NE, there is a trail going all the way down to a small beach. Don’t fall off the cliff! lol.

The shipwreck is just northeast of a piece of land that sticks out into The Great Sea (71,35) where the water from the shore starts to get deep and turns a darker blue. The secret Sea Pony cave enterance is at (74,35).

Optionally frustrated Darkmoon Fair beach fishermen can proceed along the shore counterclockwise from the Darkmoon Fair docks and then swim out to shipwreck. The advantage of doing so will be possibly passing a few pools of Shipwreck Debris.

Shipwreck Debris: Can be fished for some very good loot: Embersilk Cloth, Heartblossom, Darkmoon firewater, Heavy Savage Leather, Elementium ore, Obsidium ore and more.

Please note that the Secret Sea Pony Cave is not to be confused with the Darkmoon Island Cave (77,79), which is accessible via the beach on the lower southeast tip of the island.
