Crysis 2 PC Game Review (91%) ✰✰✰✰✰

Pre-Order

Crysis 2 is a science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, PS3, and Xbox 360 and is the first game to feature the new CryEngine 3 game engine.

In Crysis 2 the planet has been devastated by a series of climatic disasters and what remains of human society verges on total collapse. As luck would have it the aliens from the first Crisis have returned with an invasion force powered by quite a few technical advancements to finish the job.

The aliens want nothing less than the total annihilation of mankind, and it comes down in the end to one man wearing a combat Nanosuit in an attempt to sway fate in favor of the survival of his species.

The game is set in what remains of New York after a plague takes down the majority of the inhabitants and the alien invaders reduce the city to flaming ruin becoming an urban jungle.

Crysis 2 will undoubtedly set a graphic and visual benchmark for awesome atmosphere and lighting for not only PC games (like its predecessor Crysis did upon it’s release), but for all other game platforms as well. Crisis 2 features some very real stereoscopic 3D graphics in HD resolution. Unlike other FPS in the genre Crysis 2 gives players quite a bit of maneuverability with their super soldier, allowing them to: jump, slide, climb and even cloak when necessary.

Those players returning to the series after the first Crysis, which was released in 2007 will notice that the new Nanosuit has been upgraded in both passive and active modes of operation. There is now a power mode that combines previous speed and strength modes. An advanced Tactical mode has replaced the old binocular function. In addition the Cloak mode has more sensory inputs and stealth capabilities. The suit can also be upgraded by players to better “suit” their style of combat play. The aliens are pretty amazing and the revamped AI gives players some pretty accurate responses to their actions in addition to some pretty clever group coordination and interaction. We also like the multiplayer option.
