Angry Birds awarded 5 stars ✰✰✰✰✰ by GameMaster.com

Angry Birds is an amazingly popular free single player arcade puzzle game by Rovio Mobile (a Finish-based game developer) for Android that has had over a 100 million downloads across all supported gaming platforms.

Players launch humorous cartoon assault birds via giant slingshot at pigs that are stationed in various positions within or on top of defensive structures.

Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has even released several stand-alone holiday versions of the game.

Angry Birds is great for kids and adults to play. The game is quite fun and fairly addictive gameplay with plenty of replay value. The game can be stopped and started at will so it doesn’t have any time constraints and won’t interfere with busy lifestyles.

The birds are angry because the pigs have stolen some of their eggs. The structures protecting the pigs are composed of different materials (wood, glass and stone). Some types of birds are more adept at destroying particular types of materials. Some birds have other special abilities which are activated by clicking or tapping on them while they are flying towards the pig’s defensive structures. Yellow birds accelerate to cause more damage, White birds can drop explosive eggs, blue birds can split to become three smaller birds, and black birds can explode etc.

There are also different types of pigs, the larger the size the more damage
they can sustain. In later levels the pigs are equipped with armor/helmets
which protect them even more.

To clear and unlocked the next level players have to eliminate all the pigs, which is typically accomplished by a direct hit with a bird and/or debris. However, more often than not this is accomplished by causing the structure to collapse upon the garrisoned pigs.

Points are scored for: each pig eliminated, damage to structures, and bonus points are given for any birds still waiting for their turn to attack, after the last pig was defeated.

Players may replay and attempt to improve their score for any previous unlocked level, levels with the least number of completion stars are easiest to improve.

Unlike previous versions of Angry Birds released for other platforms the Android version is a free, ad-supported application. Paid applications aren’t currently supported on Android in some nations However, an ad-free paid Android version is expected fairly soon.

There is also an upcoming “Bad Piggy Bank” update for Android will allow players to buy out the in-game ads as well.
