Playfish is a developer of free-to-play social network games and was acquired by Electronic Arts in November of 2009 for 300 million in equity with a possible additional 100 million if EA executive targets are met.

Playfish games can be found on Facebook, MySpace, Google, and Bebo social networks and has been a leading application publisher for the iPhone and Android mobile phones.

Playfish was founded in 2007 by Kristian Segerstrale, Sebastien de Halleux, Sami Lababidi and Shukri Shammas.

Even though their games are free to play they can still make a profit by selling virtual goods for use within their games.

Playfish is famous for developing one of the first Facebook games to attract millions of daily players (Who has the Biggest Brain?).

Playfish has development studios in London, San Francisco, Beijing and Tromso, Norway.
